How does it work?

Quran mandates upon muslims to adhere to Tayyibaat and to avoid certain foods and drinks such as flesh of swine, flesh of dead animals as well as drinking blood and alcohol.

Above mentioned foods and drinks alter the gut ecosystem. Again, the altered gut ecosystem interferes with the normal communication pathways connecting our gut to our brain, Thus affecting our thoughts and moods. The chemicals found in the processed foods and drinks also alter and interfere with the thought and mood pathways.

Once you stop eating chemically processed foods the quality and the quantity of the neurotransmitters such as serotonin (the happy hormone), melatonin (the sleep hormone) and dopamine (the reward hormone) improve tremendously. This is how you can improve your sleep, mood and reward behaviors.
